Oredigger Men Ranked t-#2, Women #12 for Season Opener

NEW ORLEANS – The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Cross Country teams open the 2024 season on Saturday, and have already improved in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association's national rankings.
The Oredigger men moved from #3 into a tied for #2 with East Central (Okla.). Mines' women climbed two spots to #12 in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Cross Country National Coaches' Poll. Top-ranked Wingate, #4 West Texas A&M, and #5 Grand Valley State round out the top of the men's list. Adams State, Grand Valley State, Western Colorado, Augustana, and CSU Pueblo are #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 in the women's rankings.
Mines begins its 2024 season on Saturday at the Roadrunners Invitational hosted by MSU Denver at Washington Park. The men's 8,000-meter race is set for an 8:30 a.m. gun. The women's 6,000-meter race is slated to start at 9:15 a.m. A full preview will be released on Friday at www.minesathletics.com.
